Ernährung der Zukunft – Insekten auf der Speisekarte?!

Only 33 harvests to go, until the world’s resources have to feed 10 billion humans. We need proteins to master this giant task. This is why Guido Ritter, professor of nutritional sciences, suggests alternatives. Mealworms and insects could be a perfect solution: healthy, cheap and easy to (re-)produce, if only we achieved to overcome our acquired revulsion at these creatures. Guido Ritter casts a closer look at the nutritional, cultural and economic aspects for sustainable food sources and presents the perfect menu for 2030. In the year 2050, there will be approximately 10 billion people living on Earth. How will we be able to feed all of these people? Nutritionist, Guido Ritter projects the idea that we will need to turn to insects as a protein source. As a professor at the higher learning institute at Münster, he has been busy researching and developing an appreciation for incorporating insects into our daily food necessities.
